Purple Package

I finished it a coupe of days ago and again was not lucky to catch a free sunny moment! The Purple Package is a set of hanmade jewelry - crocheted on a dark metal chains and includes violet floral necklace, bracelet, ring and hair clip packed in a handy, cute sachet. Here is a tiny preview ;)

A stroll in Docklands

It was a short stroll during my lunchbreak. Docks have so many faces. They are so different in various times of the day and the year or various weather.

Maureen's Shawl

Here it is. Finished, washed, dried, semi-blocked (acrylic, blocking does not exactly bring super-duper results but the true reason is there is no space for THIS ONE): Maureen's Shawl - click for more photos (5 alltogether; picasaweb) It knitted nice but then it became HUUUUGEEE. I did not bother to count the stiches in the end. I finished the edge with crochet (2 rounds, 2 simple patterns). On the pictures with the model (which is me myself, yes, that is right) it is so blatant where I should have planned more ahead. Not exacly happy with this places but, all over, it is a nice piece to have and to wrap around the shoulders or hips or to cover your knees on the cold evening. I like the edge, it looks as I wanted it. The detail not displayed is one of the most important ones - this is an emroidered statement saying: from my lovely husband and me for Maureen. There is no photos of auntie because she was lounging after her day on her bed with a bit sore hip waiting for the painkillers. I really hoped she liked the touch of the shawl - the rainbow yarn is incredibly soft. It is acrilic but in the form I never met, I do not know what they did to it but it is softer than our ginger cat - and he IS soft! I added the yellow yarn with metalic, which is a wool mix and which you can also see in the form of the mittens in my little etsy gallery. I do not call it a shop yet. This, hopefully, will come with time. Both yarns purchaseed in Yarn-Paradise - this company is quick and reliable; they offer great wool for quite low prices. In the end of the day, I did not manage to catch the daylight to take photos of my new little piece - it is a crocheted jewelry set, which I could not resist to make. I have started one more jewelry item but I do not think I will make much more, no plans and no ideas, really. On the other hand, my imagination sometimes gets out of control and shows me whole collections, patterns, colours. Most of them are in pencil in my notebook; few will be created - so many of them...

Facebook and my moral damage

I immensly regret I ever went close to facebook. It cost me not only a huge stress as facebook website freezes the browser and loads for ages. It is not user friendly in my opinion and I have been working with not user friendly software for years now tracing the bugs and improving it by eternal testing and nagging developers. So I am not exactly a newbie, just - I do not think like teenagers who create all new virtual word. Now my account has been blocked without a warning. I failed to go through the proscedure of recognising who pasted a photo of a man in the mask, two kids on the bike who look like my husband and his cousin (but I know these are not them) and a still-life or some other goemetrical form. The connection broke, anyway and the appeal form on facebook does not exist. Sorry - the form exists. But submitting - does not. So here I am left with a damaged reputation because I refuse to reveal to facebook all details of my private life and the career as they do not exactly assure privacy. Still - I am easy-peasy to track in network and even easier to read. I do not hide - just do not flash everything. I find the whole situation highly disturbing. If I had any financial means I would eagerly sue to the court and facebook for the process, which does not assure a possibility to defend one's dignity, and the person courtesy of which now I am so angry, disappointed and anxious. I will not stop investigating how it happened and will not stop fighting for changing the situation. I am trying not to be vendictive and will also try never to be. But at this very moment I find it extremely difficult. I just want to believe this was a technical error. This one is very easy to forgive as developer's life is tough anyway and facebook on this stage is more or less like Vista. And I assure everybody - I might be not 100% happy of all aspects of my life but I am a genuine person being 100000% happy of being my genuine, real self with all my weaknesses and unwanted dark sides! On the positive side - auntie's scarf is ready - needs washing, mild blocking (blocking acrilic is a bit of wasting time...) and a little personalised emroidery.

Arrears and delays

I still have not caught up after the ants invasion. Today we bought some new stuff for the kitchen. We decided to replace a small knit duck egg blue locker with a black plastic monster just to be sure it will not become another Ants Palace. The floor is still stripped and naked so next weekend, instead of going to the Constant Knitter for a creative crocheting (never enogh of knowledge!), I will be probably cutting, moving, pushing, cleaning... I do not have good experiences with services so I prefer to do this myself. We were not too lucky with the quality - perhaps it is just because the hag of the house was not present during the work while My Lovely Husband apparently demonstrates his mild approach challenging even an angel to cheat him ;) Moreover we need to buy tomorrow a new fish - we commute by bus and the shop is in the city centre so it is a bit of a challenge. Never mind this, it also will require an exchange of water in the fish tank. The reason? There is one little fish left. The other one is dying ;( The view how one tries to raise the other one, too weak alredy to move, from the bottom broke my heart. Fish have their feelings too. Another small step to become a vegetarian. This would be the most difficult decision in my life as my body, a little predator undercover, craves for meat. So, I cut down many activities to minimum; nevertheless - the big scarf is nearly finished and I even managed to crochet a quick hat for myself as some rather cold days sneaked between cold and warm ones and my ears were simply freezing. Ears are my family's pride on my father's side and - believe me - there is some surface to get cold! So, when a sunny day arrives and when I have only a chance to take photos, I will get very busy to demonstrate I was not lazy!

An outsider getting social

fb is for me still a total jungle but I do not loose the hope it might be a garden one day. But first things should go first - like primeroses in front and daisies by the gate, courtesy my Lovely Husband. I guess I owe him apologies for neglecting tonight again while he should get more my attention. Mental note: need to re-prioritise. Good night, have good dreams. Trivia: during the sleep our brains put things in order and clean their 'cache' memory. Mine is a total trash now and no wonder I am getting lost.
